About A Bloggers Log

My Story

I started blogging over 9 years ago, and I didn’t start blogging because I had a “passion for writing” or dreamed of building a personal brand.

I started because I wanted to make money, and blogging seemed like something I could figure out easily enough without needing to kiss anyone’s ass or sit through endless Zoom calls.

I wanted to be my own boss, basically.

Back then it was much easier than it is now. These days, you need more patience, and you need more planning, skills and knowledge.

I’ve been making a full time living for 3 of the 9 years with micro niche blogs, by focusing on very tight, sometimes weird, and always specific niches that most people overlook.

Not every blog worked, as plenty failed.

But every time something broke, I learned how to fix it.

And that’s where the real education came from and how you really learn, by doing the thing, screwing it up, and doing it again until it works.

Although one thing I cannot control is damn Google algorithms. If you know, you know.

I want to document what I’ve learned without turning it into another blogging guru echo chamber. No formulas, and no motivational speeches.

The site is purposely bare bones, it’s my online logbook in the world of blogging.

It’s mainly for me to be honest, as I have future paid plans for the content on this site, but if someone finds it helpful? Great.

My Experience

I’ve grown niche blogs from zero to thousands of daily visitors.

I’ve also tanked rankings with bad SEO decisions, then pulled them out of the hole by learning why.

I’ve also pretty much tested every trendy tool, automation script, and monetization trick you can imagine.

Most of it’s junk. Some of it works. I talk about the stuff that works.

No degree in marketing. No courses. Just hard-earned experience.

What This Blog Is

This isn’t a “how to start a blog” site. This is where I post what I’ve learned from actually running blogs, for money.

You won’t get fluff here.

You’ll get straight answers to common questions.

Sometimes in bite-sized form, sometimes as long-form breakdowns. Sometimes with sarcasm.

And occasionally with swearing.

This blog might be worth keeping an eye on if:

  • If you’re tired of copy-paste blogging advice, and common myths from so called gurus who don’t actually blog.
  • If you’re trying to build a real, income-generating site without spending five hours a day on Twitter or pretending to be an influencer.
  • If you’ve already started, failed, or stalled out and just want blunt, real-world input.
  • If you haven’t even started a blog yet.

Enjoy.
